Pakistan’s legendary cricketer Shoaib Malik has created a new history in T20 cricket. Shoaib became the first Asian cricketer to score 10,000 runs in T20 cricket. Apart from the first Asian, Shoaib Malik has become the first cricketer of Pakistan to do such a feat. Malik did this feat in the National T20 Cup, a domestic cricket tournament being played in Pakistan.
Along with this, Malik is only the third cricketer in the world who has succeeded in achieving this special record. Apart from Shoaib, Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard have managed to achieve this major feat in T20 cricket.
In T20 cricket, Gayle has scored 13296 runs in 404 T20 matches, while Pollard has 10370 runs to his name in T20 cricket. Shoaib Malik has managed to score 10027 runs in 395 T20 matches. Malik has scored 62 fifties and 14 centuries in T20.
Virat Kohli has scored the most T20 runs for India, Kohli has scored 9033 runs in T20 so far, while Rohit Sharma has scored 8853 runs in T20 cricket.
In his international career, Shoaib has scored 1898 runs in 35 Tests, 7534 runs in 287 ODIs and 2335 runs in 116 T20 Internationals. Malik has also scored 9 centuries in ODIs and 3 centuries in Tests. In 2005, Shoaib debuted in the T20 format of the game.
